Aftercare Steps for Your New Piercing

Wash your hands throughly

Gently cleanse your piercings 2 times per day with a sterile saline solution, front & back

Allow it to air dry completely

Avoid touching, twisting or rotating your new piercing

Do not change your jewerly during healing

Downsize in 6-8 weeks

Healing Stages
Here’s a general breakdown of the healing stages. Just remember — everyone heals at their own pace!

Week 1: Swelling, redness & soreness is completely normal
​
Week 1-6: Yellow "crusties" form-DO NOT PICK! Use your saline spray
​
Week 6-8: Time to downsize!
Come in & say hi! I will check out your piercing & determine if a shorter post is needed to avoid snagging/rubbing to aid in healing
Troubleshooting Your Piercing
Noticing something a little off?
Don’t panic — piercings can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Here are a few common things to watch for, and what you can do:

Redness, swelling, or tenderness:Some irritation is totally normal, especially in the first few weeks. Keep up with your aftercare and avoid sleeping on or bumping the area.

A little bleeding or crusties: Totally normal in the early healing stages. Gently clean with saline as directed — no picking!

A bump forming:This could be from pressure, irritation, or even sleeping on it. Let me know — I can help you figure out what’s causing it and how to calm it down.

Jewelry shifting or tilting:
This can happen if the area gets swollen or irritated. Don’t try to fix it yourself — reach out to me so I can take a look and guide you safely.

Signs of infection (rare but important):
If you notice increased pain, swelling, warmth, pus (especially yellow/green), or feel feverish — contact me right away and consider seeing a doctor. Better safe than sorry!
Healing Timelines for Your New Piercings
Here’s a general idea of how long it takes for your new piercing to settle in. But remember — everyone heals at their own pace, so don’t rush the process!

Lobe Piercing: 6-8 weeks
Your classic ear lobe piercing is pretty chill and heals fast. Just keep it clean, and you’ll be rocking that stud in no time!

Helix/Upper Ear Piercing: 6-12 months
Cartilage piercings take a bit longer, so don’t be surprised if it needs some extra TLC. Avoid sleeping on it and keep it comfy!

Tragus Piercing: 3-6 months
Tragus piercings can take a little longer to he
al, so be gentle and avoid any pressure or snagging!

Industrial Piercing: 6-12 months
Two piercings connected by one bar? That takes some time to fully heal. Keep it clean and be patient!

Rook Piercing: 6-12 months
A stylish cartilage piercing that needs a bit more time, so don’t rush the process — it’ll be worth it!

Conch Piercing: 6-12 months
The conch is a bit of a slow burner, so take your time and give it the TLC it deserves.

Daith piercings take a bit longer to heal, but once it’s healed, it’s smooth sailing. Stick with it — it’ll be worth the wait!

Septum Piercing: 6-8 weeks
Your septum piercing will heal fairly quickly. Just keep the area clean and try not to play with it while it’s healing.

Patience is key here! Belly button piercings can take a little while, so enjoy rocking that sparkle while it heals up.
